Netflix has signed a long terms deal with the WWE to broadcast the weekly show Monday Night Raw starting January 2025. As per the company, this will be the first time that the show will not be streamed on television since its inception 31 years ago. The show will be available in the US, Canada, UK and Latin America, among other territories (WWE Raw to be streamed on Netflix).
According to the agreement, the deal (WWE Raw to be streamed on Netflix) encompasses an initial 10-year term with a total rights fee exceeding $5 billion. Netflix has the option to extend the agreement for an additional decade and can choose to opt-out after the initial five years.
In addition to streaming WWE Raw, Netflix will also feature other WWE shows such as SmackDown and NXT. Exclusive coverage of WWE’s Premium Live Events, including WrestleMania, SummerSlam, and Royal Rumble, will be available on Netflix starting January 2024. Furthermore, Netflix has announced the availability of WWE’s acclaimed documentaries, original series, and upcoming projects internationally from 2025.
For those unfamiliar, WWE Raw boasts over 1600 episodes to date. This three-hour live entertainment show has played a pivotal role in shaping the careers of renowned personalities such as Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, Triple H, John Cena, Roman Reigns, Bianca Belair, and Charlotte Flair.
