- Aktas stated that it wasn’t clear how many individuals were aboard the boat when it sank, and the Coast Guard was continuing their search in the area. He informed the state-run Anadolu Agency that among the deceased, four were infants and children. The nationalities of the migrants were not immediately determined.
- According to Anadolu, ten coast guard boats and two helicopters participated in the search and rescue operation, with several ambulances on standby at a nearby port.
