According to sources, Apple is confident that it will be well-stocked with headsets by the end of the month, ready for a February launch.
Preparations for the upcoming Vision Pro are in full swing, with Apple’s first-ever headset poised to hit shelves next month.
A substantial announcement from Apple could be on the horizon as early as this week.
In the latest edition of his newsletter, Power On, Mark Gurman of Bloomberg suggests that the launch of Vision Pro is as imminent as next month, and the Apple Stores have started preparing for the upcoming launch.
The headset is already being shipped to warehouses across the United States, before distribution to Apple retail stores.
Even though the shipment is said to be in “small quantities,” Gurman suggests that the company will have enough supply by the end of January for the planned launch by February.
Apple retail employees from across the US are attending secret training sessions in Cupertino for a new product, believed to be the Vision Pro.
They will learn how to sell the device and assist customers. Gurman further notes that a rare three-hour meeting is scheduled for all employees on January 21, and additional training sessions are planned.
Gurman has hinted that the company might aim to overshadow the prominent tech show, CES, with an announcement for its Vision Pro.
Despite Apple’s typical absence from CES, Gurman speculates a possible unveiling of the advanced AR/VR headset in the coming week, preceding its February release.
In a message on X (formerly Twitter), he expressed anticipation for a Vision Pro-related announcement soon.
The Vision Pro, which will cost $3499 or more (depending on the accessories chosen by the customer), will only be available in the United States at launch. However, Apple has assured that the device will be released in other countries “later in 2024,” and Gurman believes that the latter will not be much later.
According to Gurman, China, Canada, and the UK are considered the next markets for the Vision Pro launch.
